Traces of Becoming unfolds within overlooked living spaces, where the fragility of home is constantly negotiated. As new structures rise, older houses quietly erode, exposing the social and material fragility of urban expansion while carrying the stories of those who remain.


From these spaces, I gather ruin dust, fragments of walls, and pigments extracted from plants growing between cracks. 

These materials are composed into fragile surfaces&#38;nbsp;that act as intimate archives of ongoing presence.


The work moves as an archaeology of the present, attentive to the quiet endurance of matter and communities, and to the subtle ways both persist and continue to bloom amidst transformation.

Erratic explores the fragile, often invisible gestures of belonging in a foreign landscape. Years spent navigating unfamiliar terrain leave traces of displacement, cultural friction, and quiet detachment, marks that linger in both body and material.


The work takes its name from the geological term Glacial Erratic — a rock carried far from its origin by glaciers, deposited among unfamiliar surroundings, differing in size and structure from the landscape where it rests. Like these stones, the works carry the tension of being out of place, of persisting where they never fully belong.


Broken weaves, melting surfaces, folded forms, and sedimented layers trace the delicate struggle of presence. Threads fray, pigments shift, and materials bend toward integration, yet resist complete settling. In these gestures, the work observes the quiet friction of attempting to root oneself, the subtle victories and failures that mark a life in transit, always negotiating between foreignness and fleeting familiarity.

Threads of Resilience unfolds within textile traditions shaped by women’s hands, where weaving and embroidery carry histories of work, care, and transmission. Across cultures and time, these practices have formed social and symbolic structures, often unseen, yet deeply embedded in daily life.


From ancestral gestures, Inês Queirós develops woven works accompanied by text, where weaving becomes a metaphor for the eclipse. Like the new moon, unseen yet present, her weaves attend to what withdraws from visibility: hidden labour, cyclical time, and the quiet force that moves between absence and emergence. Threads, tensions, and shadows compose fragile surfaces that hold what sustains without spectacle.


Alongside them, Claudia A. Cruz’s embroideries unfold as intimate inscriptions. Stitch becomes a way of marking memory, repetition, and lived experience, allowing personal and collective histories to surface through the body of cloth.


Together, the works approach textile practice as a shared language, one that gathers feminine narratives, honours inherited knowledge, and invites a re-seeing of labour not as background, but as a social and economic presence that shapes how worlds are held, formed, and carried forward.

Massa Mãe unfolds within a rural landscape where bread is both sustenance and social memory. Born in Favaios, the village of Inês Queirós’s grandfather, the project emerges from daily gestures shaped by wheat, heat, and repetition. In a post-pandemic context marked by scarcity, the work turns toward bread-making as a fragile social structure — one that quietly binds labour, care, and community.


From within the bakery, textile studies gather the imprints of walls, tools, dust, and dough. Cloth becomes vessel, shield, and carrier, recording folds, stains, and tensions that trace the persistence of rural labour and ritual. These surfaces act as soft archives, holding the marks of a place shaped by work and transmission.


Aslı Hatipoğlu’s video inhabits the rhythm of the bakery from inside the body. Thought unfolds through repetition; movement is shaped by kneading, waiting, and heat. The work observes how food and labour inscribe themselves onto perception, revealing the subtle negotiations between endurance, industrial process, and care.


For the opening, fragments of Rosario’s forty-two-year-old sourdough starter were shared, allowing visitors to carry a living trace of this ongoing ritual.

Understanding the practical uses of plants can revive an appreciation of flora in urban settings, nurture respectful relationships between humans and plants, and reclaim cooperative dynamics within ecosystems.


The work unfolds within an urban landscape where plants persist as quiet, often unnoticed companions. Though frequently reduced to ornament or background, these species carry deep medicinal, edible, and chromatic histories. Turning toward the overlooked flora of Amstel Park, the project approaches them as living symbols of resilience, cooperation, and interdependence.


Gathered during a month-long residency with the School of Multispecies at Zone2Source, elder, linden, alder, birch, ivy, nettle, hawthorn, St. John’s wort, buddleja, and evening primrose became active participants. Through dye baths, lake pigments, plant inks, edible preparations, beverages, multisensory experiences, and story spells, their properties were slowly released and re-composed.


Developed in collaboration with Angela Jerardi and Katrijn Westland, the work unfolded as a dialogue piece presented as a public program of the park, inviting renewed intimacy between visitors and the diverse plant life of Amstel Park.
